Looking at the waves of the sea, reminds me of my younger sister. Whenever she sees me, she comes running to me and starts sharing all her cute little secrets. I am sure you must have seen how kids approach their favorite relative/friend. Their excitement is clearly visible in their voice, their eyes and the speed with which they move. I find the excitement of the kids analogous to that of the sea waves.
Have you ever observed the sea? That big mass of water is never settled. The waves of the sea are always engaged in a playful competition with each other while their signature wavy sound marks their arrival at the shore. You know, at times it seems like they are rushing to deliver something to the shore. But the question is, what do these waves bring?
Let me share a little anecdote –
It was a fine evening when I decided to say hello to the nearest beach. The sky was blue. The sun made an acute angle with the sea and the clouds hovered over the sun as if they were its hat. The breeze was cool.
We, humans, feel a lot. At times we just feel that we feel a lot when actually we are only feeling a little and pondering over that feeling continuously. I was doing the same. My head had innumerous thoughts running here and there and my brain was performing innumerable calculations. My heart was racing but strangely I sat in front of the sea with my heart absolutely calm, quiet and placid. I stared at the sea, the sun and the sky. It felt like I got what I was looking for.
And then I remembered, it was the same place I had been to with a friend a few months ago. We happened to have spoken about everything two girl best friends would talk about – academics, friendship and uncontrolled emotions just to name a few. I had put out a lot of doubts and a lot of questions.
The sea had listened to me before,
Now it brought me answers,
The breeze was the carrier then,
Now it became the delivery man.
Now I get it! We feel so much at peace when we sit by the shore is because we are being heard even when there is no one around. The breeze took all my doubts and concerns to the sea. When I returned, the waves got the answers for me and delivered those to the shore. Just like a delivery man would do, the breeze delivered those to me. I am sure there must be somebody deep in the sea, listening to us. The one who formulates all the solutions.
Doesn’t this mean the entire ecosystem is set in a way such that each entity here can help the other whenever required? We just have to be good listeners and interpreters!
Great job, Shristi! Your blog resonated with me and brought back memories of my younger sisters, Mansavi and Diya. Reading your words made me wish I had a beach nearby to share my secrets.
I am glad you could connect!
